I received Ph.D. and M.Sc.'s degree in Economics from Graduate School of Economics at Getulio Vargas Foundation (EPGE/FGV-RJ) and a B.A.'s degree in Economics Science from Department of Economics of the Santa Ursula University (Economics/USU).
Since October 2019 I am Associated Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance at the Faculty of Economics of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (FE/UFJF), where I am responsible for the undergraduate courses of Asset Pricing, Derivatives and Risk and Introduction to Economics Modelling and Data Science. During Covid-19's times I offered the home studies Introduction to Data Science with R. From October 2011 to September 2019 I was Adjunct Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance at the Faculty of Economics of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (FE/UFJF), where I was responsible for the undergraduate courses of Microeconomics II (up to 2020) and Asset Pricing, Derivatives and Risk. I also worked in the Graduate Program in Economics (PPGE/UFJF), where from 2012 to 2014 I was responsible for the course Introduction of Mathematical Analysis for Economic Theory and from 2015 to 2019 I was responsible for the course Asset Pricing. In 2018 I also offered the course Introduction to Neuroeconomics and in 2019 I also offered the course Introduction to Machine Learning with R . In July 2018 I offered in the UFJF Global July 2018 the courses Theoretical and computational aspects of the Black-Scholes formula and A brief Introduction to the theory of non-cooperative games and to strategic thinking. In July 2017 I offered in the UFJF Global July 2017 the course Theoretical and computational aspects of the Black-Scholes equation. I was Seminars coordinator of the PPGEA/UFJF in 2012. I am directly involved in the creation of the Center for Mathematical, Statistics and Computational Studies in Economics and Finance in the Department of Economics and Finance at the Faculty of Economics at Federal University of Juiz de Fora (Quants/UFJF). My extensive experience as a teacher, teaching for more than 26 years in courses of economics and finance, includes passages in renowned institutions of economics in Brasil: Getulio Vargas Foundation (EPGE/FGV-RJ), Pontifical Catholic University (PUC-RJ), Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), IBMEC Business School and FUCAPE Business School. I am writer for the Millenium Institute (my articles in Millenium Institute), I was columnist (on derivatives) in the portal InfoMoney news and in the GuiaInvest finance portal and some of my post from my blog (http://pccoimbra.blogspot.com/) have also been published on the portal Investment Monitor (my articles in Monitor Investimentos). I enjoy to coding in my spare time. In fact, I studied "System Developing with Java Technologies", a graduate course at the Computer Sciences Department of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. Soon I will publish here some java codes in economics and finance. Finance Apps for web and smartphones are also coming! Despite criticism from very illustrious people - who has my respect - I am an enthusiastic on blockchain, bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as well. This is my opinion today, but if tomorrow I do not agree with it, then I will change my mind. For those of you who want to follow the graphics of Bitcoin, click here. I also support the LMF - Liga do Mercado Financeiro - from the undergraduate students of Federal University of Juiz de Fora - and LANP - Newton Paulo Bueno Academic League of Economics and Behavior - from the undergraduate students of Economic Science at Federal University of Viçosa. I was coordinator of Applied Microeconomics Seminars at EPGE / FGV, from 2002 to 2005. I was also coordinator of the Brazilian Olympiad of Mathematics in my time at IBMEC Business School. I was the founder and organizer of the Giba's Challenge to the stock market, a tournament held between doctoral students at EPGE/FGV-RJ (in 2006) that simulated investments in shares on the Bovespa.
